Initiative of Solidarity with the Indian People Founded

Recently, a new initiative has emerged in Greece under the name of the Initiative of Solidarity with the Indian People. This initiative aims to address critical topics on the Indian State, particularly in relation to the comprador big bourgeoisie (CBB), and its role against the ongoing People’s War.

The Initiative describes their main goals as:

1. Dispel all the myths surrounding the Indian State and the role of the Indian CBB in the international arena.

2. Aware the Greek people about the emerging reactionary economic, military, and political alliance forged between the Greek comprador bourgeoisie and the Indian CBB. Specially on some “corridors,” such as the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), and their connections to Zionist State.

3. To shed light on the internal policies of the Indian CBB, particularly on the Hindutva, which includes persecution of minorities, Muslims or women, its role as a narrative of the CBB and its similarities with Zionism.

4. Last but not least, the Initiative aims to highlight the true alternative for the Indian People: the People’s War headed by the CPI (Maoist)

The Initiative also claims that this is not a easy task, because of the international panorama, many people thing that Greece should unite forces with Modi and the Indian “raising power”. Moreover, there are many who claim that BRICS – without even considering its internal and inherent contradictions – is a kind of new “anti-imperialist camp”.

But despite these challenges, the Initiative emphasizes the importance of being informed. Following this, their first activity was done.

The initiative reported that they were present in three different political festival (some of them withe more than 30,000 attendees) with a stand were they diffuse some material. Among these materials CPI (Maoist) statements on Basavaraj, a leaflets with the Initiative’s goal and two books of the CPI (Maoists) could be found. More activities are planned for the future.
