Current of the People Red Sun has expressed solidarity with the attack against the Cherán K’eri, defending “the correct and just response by the Cherán K’eri people who, with weapons in hand, the activation of barricades, and the capacity for response by the Community Round, have rejected this criminal aggression, making it clear that the resisting peoples, acting in an organized and combative manner, are capable of confronting and defeating this reactionary war.

They have also reaffirmed the need for communities to defend themselves against these aggressions, denouncing the reactionary war against the people, which they explain that is taking place “throughout the national territory,” in collusion with “criminal and paramilitary groups” at the service of Yankee imperialism.

Finally, Current of the People Red Sun points to the responsibility of the Mexican State in what has occurred and demands an end to the attacks against all indigenous communities in Michoacán.

On July 9 the General Assembly of the Community organized a massive march in the capital of the State before the indolence and omission of the State.
