Yugoslavia: Actions on the Occasion of the Death of Comrade Basavaraj

Activists of the Committee for the Reconstitution of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia carried out several actions to honor Comrade Basavaraj and express support for the Communist Party of India (Maoist). The website “Unite under Maoism” reports that “South Slavic communists in formation, have accepted the call to action published by the International Communist League to support the People’s War in India and to pay tribute to Comrade Basavaraj, who magnificently gave his life in the service of the people, struggling wholeheartedly and without any personal interest to defend the masses and advance the revolution!” (the translation is unofficial and ours).
The Yugoslavian website states firmly that “South Slavic revolutionaries and the masses must understand that Comrade Basavaraj does not belong only to India! He is the son of all oppressed peoples of the world, and his example illuminates the horizon for their own struggles, wherever they may be!”, and end the article with the following slogans:
“LONG LIVE THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF INDIA (MAOIST)!
LONG LIVE COMRADE BASAVARAJ, SON OF THE OPPRESSED PEOPLES OF THE WORLD!
LONG LIVE INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY!”
