Turkey: Restricted communications for imprisoned Partizans Dursun Er and Ünal Yiğit

We share an unofficial translation of a note by Yeni Demokrasi.

The imprisoned Partizans who were transferred from the Marmara Prison to the Adana F Type High Security Prison were sentenced to a one-month ban on letters and phone calls.

On July 8, imprisoned Partizans Er and Yiğit, who were transfered, went on a three-day hunger strike in response to this attack. The Adana F-Type High Security Prison administration launched an investigation into the hunger strike and sentenced both prisoners to one month of communication restrictions. Those restrictions have been now implemented.

Imprisoned Partizans Er y Yiğit stated that revolutionary prisoners cannot be intimidated by such “punishments” and attacks, and said, “Wherever we are, under all circumstances, the struggle will continue.”
