For the recent weeks many actions made clear that the People’s Wars in India and the Philippines are very present and dealing blows to the old States. We hereby share a small compilation of some of the actions reported by different media outlets.
India
Between 30 and 40 Maoist combatants carried out an action in Lembodih village in Jharkhand, on Wednesday night, the 20th of August, reportedly. They set a tractor and a pick-up truck on fire. The repressive forces rushed to the spot and started a search operation with no results so far.
Maoist guerrillas carried out another action against a private mining company in Hazaribagh’s Charhi area, also in Jharkhand, between August 23 and 24. According to media reports, as many as 6 vehicles of an outsourcing company associated with a Central Coalfield Limited’s [CCL] project in the area was targeted and set ablaze.
Bourgeois media and repressive forces, regarding Jharkhand stated that the Maoists are “confined” in small areas, and that Maoism will “be wiped out” from India by March next year. However, such type of actions by Maoist guerrillas have not been seen since 2023 in this area. Therefore, far from being eliminated, they had made a leap in Jharkhand.
Philippines
New People’s Army (NPA) units have engaged in combats against the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in several areas of the country. The NPA combatants eliminated three soldiers and injured three more in Mindoro. The AFP committed numerous crimes in the area, as for example the murder of a civilian peasant on August 1, and also the detention, torture and murder of a NPA combatant on August 7.
NPA units carried out an attack against a AFP camp in Quezon, making clear that the statement by the old Filipino State leader, Ferdinand Marcos Jr, that “no guerrilla group remains” was completely false.
In Aurora, NPA units clashed against the AFP forces, wounding a soldier of the 91st Infantry Battalion (IB). The NPA combatants withdrew with no casualties. Philippine Revolution Web Central informs that “The 91st IB has been conducting focused and sustained military operations for three months in Dingalan and nearby towns. The battalion squandered massive resources and deployed hundreds of troopers in a desperate attempt to hunt down the unit of the people’s army.” Despite these immense resources, the old Filipino State faced another defeat and failed operation against the NPA.
