Report on USA Campaign to Support the Martyrs in India
We hereby share a report that we received by mail.
Introduction
Over the past 6 months comrades in numerous cities participated in the international campaign in support of the People’s War in India and the Communist Party of India (Maoist) that leads it. This campaign comes at a time where the fascist old Indian state is desperately trying to crush the People’s War by unleashing more and more atrocities against the people, this is the case of their newest genocidal campaign: Operation Kagar. Unprecedented numbers of old Indian state’s military forces are being deployed to “Maoist affected regions”, and the old state ‘promises’ to end the people’s war by March 31 of 2026. The Communist Party of India (Maoist) also suffered the loss of their leader, Comrade Basavaraj, along with 26 other people’s fighters on May 21 of 2025. The campaign in support of the People’s War in India culminated in many actions being held around Indian Revolution Martyrs Week from July 26 to August 3.
Seattle, Washington
In Seattle, activists conducted an educational teach-in on July 26. The teach-in covered the significance of the New Democratic revolution, the importance of the Communist Party in leading the revolution, the new power being built in India and how the reactionaries miserably attempt to crush the people’s war by committing all kinds of atrocities against the people – attempting to apply the strategies of separating the masses from the militants and annihilating the leadership. Parallels were drawn to the heroic war of National Liberation in Palestine.
On August 3 a rally and march was held outside the old Indian state’s consulate, organized by Puget Sound Red Front and joined by local anti-imperialist organizations South Asians Resisting Imperialism and the Kashmiri Resistance Collective. Speeches were given highlighting the martyrdom of Comrade Basavaraj, the sinister role of US imperialism in supporting the genocidal Operation Kagar, its lackey Israel’s support to the Fascist Indian regime, and the nearly 80 year Indian occupation and colonization of Kashmir, and how Kashmir’s national liberation struggle is connected to the World Revolution.
Hundreds of posters were put up in preparation for the teach-in and rally, and hundreds of fliers were distributed, with a specific concentration working class neighborhoods.
We also received photos of graffiti done in support of the People’s War in India and the Communist Party of India (Maoist) that leads it.

Portland, Oregon
On April 12 activists held an emergency action outside of a facility that hosts Indian consulate staff. They demanded an end to Operation Kagar and the immediate withdrawal of Old Indian state military forces from the Maoist stronghold of Bastar district.
On July 30 activists hosted a presentation giving an overview of the history and practice of the Indian People’s War, while also screening sections from the documentary ‘Operation Kagar’ by the Revolutionary Student Front of West Bengal (India).
On August 7 activists gave a film screening of Red Ant Dream which documents the People’s War in India from first hand participants.
On August 9 a rally in honor of Comrade Basavaraj and the 27 martyred heroes was held outside of Boeing, the imperialist aerospace engineering company’s facility. Numerous local anti-imperialist organizations participated in this action.
Wall drawings made in support of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) were spotted in the Portland as well.

Eugene, Oregon
On July 25 activists conducted a film screening of Red Ant Dream, and on August 1 an educational discussion was held. The discussion served as an introduction to the People’s War in India and the genocidal Operation Kagar.

Oakland, California
On August 2 activists held a teach-in about Operation Kagar, the fascist Indian state’s crimes against the people were exposed and the resistance of the Maoists was highlighted.
