In the speeches, the comrade’s combativeness was especially celebrated, as one of the peasants stated in reference to a picture of Raimundo: “See this photo here? One day it could be mine. I may die today, tomorrow, but I will die fighting”.

Speakers also spoke about seemingly invincible forces that was and are being defeated by the organized and combative struggle of the people: the fall of the Nazi-fascist forces in Germany, the Yankee imperialist invasion of Vietnam, and the Zionist imperialist invasion of Palestine.
After the speeches, a group of peasant children living in the area performed two songs. They began by singing the song “Conquistar a Terra” (Conquer the Land) and then sang “O Risco” (The Risk), moving everyone present.

The event concluded with a demonstration: a march around the warehouse, where the peasants, alongside students, teachers and technicians, raised their flags and shouted slogans in defense of the struggle for land.
