
More than 500,000 People Take to the Streets in France

On Thursday, there were reports of protests in more than 200 towns and cities across France. The General Confederation of Labor (CGT), the organizer, stated that nearly 600,000 people took part in the nationwide protests. The French State deployed close to 76,000 police officers, including gendarmes across the country, including 5,000 in Paris, in response to the protests, outgoing Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said on Thursday.
In many places mobilizations for Palestine were also organized in response to the attack against the Global Sumud Flotilla:
85,000 demonstrators took to the streets in Paris and many actions were carried out in the capital of the country. The University of Paris 8 was blockaded from the first hours in the morning:
A bus depot was also blockaded at dawn:
Demonstrators stormed and occupied a Tesla store near the company’s headquarters:
The police attempted to violently disperse the rallies in Paris:
In St Denis a supermarket was blockaded in solidarity with Palestine:
A powerful mobilization took place in Lyon, where the speaker of LJR stressed the necessity of join the upcoming Communist Youth Congress. A mobilization in solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla also took place:
Thousands took to the streets in Marseille. The weapon manufacturer, Eurolinks, directly linked with the genocide in Palestine, was blockaded by activists. More than 100 activists were arrested in this blockade.
The unions stated that 10,000 demonstrators attended the mobilization in Rennes. At least two people were arrested at dawn. The demonstrators were attacked by the police who used tear gas:

Between 9,000 and 20,000 people participated in the mobilization in Toulouse:
There were demonstrations and blockades in many other French cities such as in Nantes, Caen, Brest, Valenciennes, etc.:
The high-schools were once more a hot-spot of mobilization and struggle, and many of them were blockaded across the country, as was announced by the Fédération Syndicale Étudiante (FSE):
There were high-schools blockaded by FSE activists in Amiens, Clicnancourt, Lille, Limoges, Rennes, Saint-Denis, Saint-Étienne, Strasbourg, Toulouse:
Blockades were carried out in the Mirail neighborhood of Toulouse:
In Limoges activists of LJR blockaded the high-school Valadon:
High-schools were blockaded in Rennes and Lille:
In Strasbourg a picket line was organized by activists:
The FSE participated in the blockades of high-schools in the city:
Amid this struggle many activists across the country were arrested. The FSE has issued a statement in solidarity with the detainees from the mobilizations on October 2 and announced that some of its students have been arrested in Rennes, Nancy and Montpellier:
The National Bureau of LJR and JR also stated that many of its militants were arrested:
