Partizan and ESP hold a panel on the second anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report from a recent panel held by Partizan and Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) on the anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood, published by Yeni Demokrasi.

Partizan and ESP organized a panel at Esenyurt Gölge Sahne with the slogan “Palestinian Resistance Will Win! Imperialist Barbarism Will Lose!”

The panel began with a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs of revolution and democracy, including those who fell in Palestine.

ESP representative Satiye Ok spoke first. Ok assessed the process that led the Palestinian national resistance to the Al-Aqsa Flood; Zionist Israel’s unprecedented escalation of the occupation; the weakening of the national resistance base by the dual power structure in Palestine (PLO in the West Bank, Hamas in Gaza); the PLO’s collaborationist stance; the rapid expansion of occupied territories, also known as settlements; and the daily occurrence of Zionist Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people.

Commenting on the Al-Aqsa Flood, Ok noted that a new process began in the Middle East with October 7th, saying:

“Above all, this action must be seen as legitimate. It should be seen as part of the resistance of a people who are being subjected not to defeat or enslavement, but outright annihilation.”

“Undoubtedly, this was an action of resistance, initially planned by Hamas but later carried out through the coordination of 12 Palestinian organizations united under the name of the Joint Operations Room. This move sent a shockwave through the entire imperialist camp, especially the US and Israel. It shattered the myth of an invincible, secure Israel.”

A CONSISTENT ANTI-IMPERIALIST LINE MUST BE BUILT

The Partizan representative then took the floor. Speaking of imperialism and the resistance waged by the Palestinian people, the Partizan representative stated the following:

“The influence of imperialism is particularly evident in the Middle East, where the struggle for independence has been incomplete and is constantly disrupted by external interventions. We know that this region is of critical importance in terms of securing the strategic interests of imperialists and controlling Arab unity or popular resistance.”

“This situation is directly related to efforts to intensify oppression and exploitation of people in colonial and semi-colonial countries. But the fact remains that during colonization, colonial powers did not always achieve their goals.

“From Palestine to India, from Brazil to Lebanon, the resistance of the people and oppressed nations has always been present. On one side, the relentless attacks of imperialism and its lackeys; on the other, the resistance of the people. And we see that the imperialists are unable to achieve all their goals.”

“With intensifying attacks, redesign plans, and an arms race, the people today once again stand on the brink of a fierce war. Imperialism, in all its darkness and reactionism, is on the scene. It continues to act in collaboration with reactionary and anachronistic movements thought to be buried in the depths of history.”

“We know that the source of the corruption, reactionism, ignorance, and misery in the world; the problems in our country, the annexation in the form of occupation and genocide in Palestine—is imperialism. No matter what kind of oppression or reactionism we face, we know that the only way to defeat it is to break the domination of imperialism.”

“The source of all our problems is this sinister organization. This organization is the greatest obstacle to humanity’s social development. No problem can be solved without understanding the obstacle of imperialism, and no problem can be overcome without breaking the obstacle of imperialism.”

Addressing the role and position of imperialism in the Palestinian issue, the Partizan representative said, “All reactionaries aligned with imperialism live with the expectation of a Palestine purged of the Palestinian people. Yet, as resistance is defeated, it spreads. It has become a vital part of the agenda of the peoples of the world, from Europe to Asia, from South America to the Middle East. Today, the struggle is being waged primarily against Zionism. In this sense, it is important for us to examine the Zionist idea, the project, and the process of building the artificial state of Israel.”

The Partizan representative then emphasized that supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people meant strengthening the anti-imperialist struggle in our country; developing the class struggle meant solidarity with Palestine; developing the revolutionary war meant strengthening Palestine, and called for organization against Zionism and all forms of reactionism, stating the following:

“We see imperialism as the source of social problems; therefore, we must confront all those directly affected by imperialism as a force that must not only be exposed but also defeated. This is only possible with a proletarian strategy.”

“Today, we see that a coherent anti-imperialist line has not been constructed within the context of thePalestine solidarity movement. This is the responsibility that falls upon us today.”

“If we want to break the siege on Palestine, the prerequisite for progress in this regard is to build aconsistent line against imperialism in our country and to take organized and bold steps against fascism, imperialism, Zionism, which is an imperialist policy, and all kinds of reactionism.”

“Our call is not only to raise the Palestinian flag, but also to raise the red flag.”

Speaking on behalf of the Palestine Action Committee, Ümit Doğru drew attention to the work of thePalestine Action Committee, companies collaborating in the Genocide in Turkey, the boycott movement, and the State’s hypocritical Palestine policy.
