“New Armed Attack” and Land Seizure by LCP in Rondônia, According to Bourgeois Press
Several bourgeois press media informed on a new attack allegedly by the League of Poor Peasants (LCP) in Rondônia. A video in social media shows an aerial view of the farm with people running and sounds of shoots. According to the police media “Alô Thanos”, this record is the latest attack done by the LCP against the latifundium “NorBrasil”. The big landlord is being investigated for several schemes of appropriation of land, mercenary collaboration, fraud and manipulation of the judiciary system.
This media informs that the “criminals” – referring to the peasants – “opened fired against a shed”, this made the goons, who are referred to as “workers” in the text, take cover. Afterwards, the Border Battalion and the Military Police of Rondônia were deployed in the region, patrolling to avoid new “attacks”. The police media adds “The atmosphere remains tense and on maximum alert in the region (…) residents and rural producers declare that they suffer constant fear and state that the attacks allegedly by the LCP are more frequent and violent.”
Other bourgeois press also reported on this action, in addition to the general commander of the Military Police, Regis Braguin, who uses social media to share information against the LCP.
Rondônia ao vivo states that the peasants set up a camp in the latifundium. The same is stated by Expressão Rondônia, who wrote on November 4 that “[the LCP] continues in the area and prevents the access to the officials and the rural owners of the headquarter.”
They add: “The Military Police of Rondônia authorities are watching the place, but the eviction is not imminent. Additionally, at least four big tractors working in the area were observed, constructing paths and bridges and cleaning the land for the expansion of the camp, indicating a long-termed planned occupation.”
The “Galho Verde”, major land grabber in Rondônia
As denounced by A Nova Democracia, the latifundium of NorBrasil is owned by the big landlord “Galho Verde”, considered the major land grabber in Rondônia. He attacks the peasants in an attempt to disorganize its resistance, but without results. He was accused of severely damaging nature, dismantlement, erosion of the land, causing fires and polluting rivers.
In 2022 an armed militia – where civil and military police officers participated – was disbanded. They carryed out 32 arrest orders, five raids and a destitution of a public officer. AND found proof which pointed out Galho Verde as the main leader, Press media Brasil de Fato found this to be true also. These accusations against Galho Verde took place after big conflicts between the LCP and Galho Verde between 2020 and 2021.
