Demonstration for a Free Sudan in Helsinki, Finland

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by Punalippu.

On November 1, a solidarity demonstration for Sudan was organized under the slogans “Peace to Sudan” and “End the genocide in El-Fasher”. This demonstration also had, at most, around 100 participants, and it was a march that went from Kansalaistori to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates. The mood among the participants was enthusiastic and energetic. Some of the slogans chanted were “Free the people, free the land – We demand a free Sudan!” and “From Palestine to Sudan – no peace on stolen land!”. In general, there was an understanding among the participants of the connections between the situation in Palestine and Sudan. Speeches were heard in Finnish, English and Arabic. In general, the demonstration was impressive and powerful.
