Spanish State: Talk on the Palestinian Resistance Held in València

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by Revolutionary Committees.

Last Friday, 7th of November, the talk on the Palestinian Resistance, organized by the Revolutionary Committee of València along with other pro-Palestinian groups, took place. The event was held at the Workers’ and People’s Center of l’Olivereta and was a success. Several organizations that collaborated on the talk, such as the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) and the Workers’ Union Coordination (COS), were present and had the opportunity to deliver speeches in support of the Palestinian people and defend their right to armed resistance.

Throughout the talk, the Palestinian Resistance was explained, with emphasis on its composition of “workers and peasants, mainly peasants, who took up arms to eliminate the invader” alongside other sectors of the people. A review of the history of the armed struggle was given, mentioning Chrysanthemum Flowers, a Palestinian women’s organization founded in 1947. The various factions which form the Resistance today were also discussed, as well as their main armed brigades, such as the Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas), Al-Quds Brigades (Palestinian Islamic Jihad), Al-Aqsa Brigades (originally Fatah, now independent), Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades (PFLP), and the National Resistance Brigades (DFLP).

According to the speaker, the Al-Aqsa Flood was the beginning of the end for the State of Israel. He also stated that we are living in “historic times” in “times of war all over the world” which are very difficult for imperialism due to “revolutionary and national liberation struggles, such as in India, Turkey, Peru, the Philippines, Brazil, and other places.” Regarding the current ceasefire, he noted that it was the “political consolidation of the military victories achieved by the Resistance” and that the signed agreement was very different from the false Peace Agreement proposed by Trump. The speaker also sought to connect anti-imperialist struggles worldwide, inviting the audience to support other struggles: “Resistance and armed struggle against imperialism are justified. If we support the Palestinian people, why not other peoples who are developing armed struggles in their national liberation processes? We invite the audience to reflect on this.” Finally, the talk ended with a call to form a united front against imperialism and to participate in the process of building the Anti-Imperialist League.
