Israeli Infiltrations in Southern Lebanese Territory
We hereby share a report published by The Palestine Chronicle.
Israeli special forces unit infiltrated the border town of Aitaroun in south Lebanon on Tuesday and detonated three homes in the town’s southeastern neighborhood, marking yet another violation in a continuing pattern of Israeli operations in the south, Al-Jazeera reported, citing a Lebanese source.
The Israeli army confirmed that it had destroyed several buildings in southern Lebanon overnight, claiming they were being used for military purposes.
On Monday, southern and eastern Lebanon witnessed a series of Israeli airstrikes carried out by warplanes and drones targeting multiple mountainous areas, in what is considered the most significant escalation since the ceasefire agreement of November 2024.
Lebanese media reported that Israeli aircraft targeted the areas of Jarmaq, Rihan, Jabour, Jabal al-Rafie, Qatrani, Barghaz, and Mahmoudiya in south Lebanon.
Strikes were also recorded on the outskirts of the town of Nabi Sheet, the Al-Shaara neighborhood near Janta, and an open mountainous area near the Lebanese-Syrian border in the Bekaa Valley.
In a separate incident, an Israeli drone targeted a small truck in the city of Hermel in eastern Lebanon, causing no injuries, while extensive drone activity was reported over villages northeast of Tyre, alongside strikes on open land in the Al-Dhahour area.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health said that one person was killed on Monday morning in an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle on the coastal road between Sarafand and Baysariyeh in the Sidon district.
A security source reportedly said the vehicle was hit with three missiles.
These developments come amid ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement of November 27, 2024, with operations including airstrikes, demolitions, and ongoing military presence at five points inside Lebanese territory.
