Maoists Eliminate a Police Officer in Chhattisgarh, India

An Indian elite-police officer was eliminated yesterday in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district, according to local sources. He was part of a joint team operation against the Maoist guerrillas conducted by the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh repressive forces.
When the team reached the forests of Kanghurra, on the Chhattisgarh–Madhya Pradesh border near Bortalab, Naxals lying in ambush opened fire. During this gunfire the police officer was injured and died to to his serious injuries. The police officer was part of an specialized unit, the Hawk Force. The guerrillas retreated without facing casualties.
