Repressive Forces Conduct Raid on Dublin Republican
On the morning of 18th of November, the Free State Special Branch conducted a raid on the home of a Dublin republican, arresting him. The republican was, as of Tuesday, held in a free state barracks, according to An Phoblacht Abú.
Anti Imperialist Action Ireland condemns the attack and reminds us that raids such as this are “designed to intimidate and harass Republicans and their families in an attempt to isolate them from their communites.” They go on to state that “This tactic has always failed and instead shows that the free state continues to see Revolutionary Irish Socialist Republicanism as a threat and use such tactics in an attempt to break it. It hasn’t worked before and it won’t work now.”
They end their statement saying that “AIA, our members and supporters will not be intimidated or prevented from pursuing our legitimate objectives for National Liberation and Socialism in Ireland”
