Several revolutionary organizations have recently issued a joint statement on the genocide and the war in Sudan. The statement has been issued by the Ligue de la Jeunesse Révolutionnaire (LJR), Jeunes Révolutionnaires (JR), Young Struggle France and Peaux Noires Ligne Rouge (PNLR).

The statement emphasizes that Sudan has faced and is facing wars and genocides. The statement explains that “The current conflict started in 2003 in Darfur with an armed struggle movement for the emancipation of that region, one of the poorest in Sudan.” A turning point started in 2018, when a social movement demanded “the end of the comprador reactionary regime led by Omar El-Bashir, imperialism’s lackey”.

The statement stresses the role played by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which as well as the State of Israel, are “not imperialist States” but are “playing the role of the western outpost in the Middle East”. The United Arab Emirates are serving the interests of France and United States, among other imperialist powers, in the region.

At the end of the statement, the organizations say clearly that “every serious revolutionary must, as it has done with Palestine and Kanaky, support the resistance of the Sudanese people”, and they stress the relevance of the relations between the solidarity with Palestine and the solidarity with Sudan.
