We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by Avrupa Haber.

On November 25, a massive and enthusiastic march took place in Innsbruck city center on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, led by the “Innsbruck Women’s NETWORK,” in which the Purple-Red Collective participated. The gathering began at 16:00 on Anna Street in Innsbruck. After greeting the crowd, various women’s organizations delivered speeches. These speeches addressed issues such as imperialist aggression, capitalist crises, unjust wars, occupations, and femicides. There were calls for women, who are victims of State and male violence, to organize and intensify their struggles against the exploitation of women’s labor and the oppression of their will, bodies, and identities. The speeches emphasized fighting against the system that produces violence against women and its patriarchal mindset in all areas, along with calls for organized resistance against State violence.

After the speeches, groups formed to proceed with the march. The Purple-Red Collective joined the anti-imperialist march with its banner, placards for comrade Renuka, who was martyred in the People’s War in India, and their flags. The crowd, moving through the busy streets of Innsbruck, shouted slogans like “Long live international solidarity,” “No to femicides,” and “Jin Jiyan Azadi.” The march concluded with a musical performance in front of the Landesmuseum.
