Further Israeli Escalation Against Lebanon

The State of Israel has unleashed a new wave of strikes against Lebanon since Monday. This constitutes a further breaching of the ceasefire agreed upon November of 2024, and therefore a new series of crimes committed by the Israelis.
Three people were murdered on Monday in an Israeli drone strike that targeted a vehicle in south Lebanon. A soldier of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) was among those murdered. The strike took place in the Sidon district, 30 km away from the Israeli line of withdrawal from south Lebanon, also known as the Blue Line.
The State of Israel also launched a series of airstrikes on Wednesday, targeting once more the Sidon district, but also southern Lebanon. At least six airstrikes were recorded in Houmine in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region alone. There was also machine-gun fire coming from Israeli positions.
On Thursday 25th of December three people in separate Israeli airstrikes in eastern Lebanon and southern Lebanon.
The State of Israel launched a series of attacks on southern Lebanon on Friday 26th of December. Several locations were attacked, among them the outskirts of the town of Basalyah in the Jezzine district and the Shmein area in the Shebaa Heights. The Bekaa Valley, eastern Lebanon was also attacked.
The United Nations issued a note informing that one UN peacekeeper part of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was injured, while he was patrolling in a roadblock in the village of Bastarra, southern Lebanon. The soldier was injured “after heavy machine gunfire from Israel Defense Forces (IDF) positions south of the Blue Line”. According to the latest figures released by the UNIFIL, Israel has committed more than 7,500 airspace violations and over 2,500 land breaches since the ceasefire agreement came into force.
