Santiago de Chile | Invitation to a Seminar:
“Classes and Class Struggle in the Current Chile”
– 20, 22, 27 and 29 of January of 2026
– 18:00 to 20:00 hrs
– Local Laura Allende
– Agustinas 2384, Santiago (Metro Cumming)
We, the Newspaper El Pueblo, invite you to participate in a four-session seminar of study and discussion on the characterization of social classes and current struggles in Chile.
This forum is not intended to be a sterile academic debate, but rather a collective exploration of the enduring relevance of fundamental Marxist tenets, drawing on classic texts, current documents, statistical data, and the experiences of the participants. The goal is to contribute to an honest and well-founded dialogue among the various currents of popular struggle.
Topics per session:
• Session 1: Development and current relevance of Marxist theses on class and class struggle
• Session 2: Chile facing international capital: developing country or semi-colony?
• Session 3: Popular struggles post-1990 and their class character of mobilized sectors and their demands
• Session 4: Underlying semi-feudalism in the countryside and the city: the end of the latifundium?
