Large-Scale Israeli Attacks Against the West Bank

The Israelis have unleashed a new wave of attacks against the West Bank since the past weekend. They deployed hundreds of troops and launched a wide-area operation in Hebron, as well as attacking several other cities, using the settlers as well against the Palestinian peasantry in order to try to rob their land.
On Friday the Israeli forces murdered a 14-year-old youth in the east of Ramallah. When the Israelis raided the village of Al-Mughayyir, they faced the resistance of the residents. Afterwards, the Israeli soldiers opened fire against the civilians and murdered the 14-year-old boy. Also on Friday there are reports of raids and the burning of homes in other cities.
These attacks continued on Sunday, when the Israeli soldiers and the settlers burned homes and vehicles in several locations, al Al-Quds News report.
On Monday the Israeli troops launched a large operation against Hebron, deployed hundreds of soldiers and special units, as well as police officers and border guard units. Mass arrests, blockade of the streets and large-scale raids were carried out.
The operation continued during Tuesday, Wednesday and today. The Israeli troops made dozens of arrests, beat the prisoners and brought them to unknown locations. They also imposed a curfew in the city and displaced several families using their homes as military outposts.
Even tough the attack focused on Hebron, the Israeli forces raided several other locations in the West Bank. In Jenin, Israeli forces carried out arrests in several towns and neighborhoods, while in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, children were detained during raids on refugee camps.

The Israelis have the great help of the traitorous so-called Palestinian Authority (PA), which is continuously carrying out arrests of former prisoners, including individuals released in recent exchange deals, as the Families Committee of Political Detainees in the occupied West Bank denounced. The Families Committee denounced that these practices are “non-national behavior that primarily serves the occupation and has no connection whatsoever to the interests of our people.”
The Israeli attacks and the complicity of the PA are not deterring the people of Palestine of offering resistance. One Israeli solder has been eliminated and 16 other have been injured in 51 resistance actions carried out between 10th and 17th of January.
According to the Palestinian Information Center “Mu’ata”, there was a shooting operation targeting Israeli forces, damage to settler vehicles, and at least 34 confrontations involving stone-throwing.
