AND: Venezuela’s Interim President “Collaborating With the US” to Avoid Being Assassinated

Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, has confessed that she collaborated with US imperialism during the invasion of the country and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro due to direct death threats, A Nova Democracia (AND) reports. In a video released by the newspaper La Hora de Venezuela, Ñañez, Minister of Communication, asked Maduro’s supporters to support the interim president to avoid “rumors” of treason.

Ñañez stated that the cooperation with the US was “an already drew strategy” by Maduro before he was kidnapped in an attempt to prevent the Venezuelan nation from rebelling against the Yankee aggression to which it is subjected.

Rodríguez even assured that submission “is the only guarantee that we have to bring back the president and the first lady, but also turn the page to reconfigure our forces”.

Taking advantage of the interim government’s submission, imperialism and its counter-propaganda agencies try to further demoralize the Venezuelan government, AND reports. A report by The Guardian claimed that Delcy Rodríguez and her brother had a prior agreement before the operation, and other Yankee newspapers follow this narrative.

“Indeed, since taking office, Delcy Rodríguez has led the government as a mere interpreter of Trump’s humiliating orders, which has not helped to combat the rumors and accusations surrounding her,” AND reports. The interim president waited only 12 days after Maduro’s kidnapping to receive the director of the US Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Ratcliffe, in the capital Caracas, “which constituted a humiliating encounter for the nation,” the newspaper continues. This meeting was ordered by Trump himself to discuss the Venezuelan authorities’ cooperation with Yankee imperialism.

Reforms Advance as Trump Orders

Delcy and Jorge Rodríguez are articulating a reform in the Hydrocarbons Law in the Legislative Assembly, which “will provoke a true handover of the national oil sector,” AND affirms. If approved, the measure will allow the end of the state monopoly on oil extraction and refining, enabling imperialist companies to buy shares of “Petróleo de Venezuela S.A.” (PDVSA) and acquire large oil reserves from the country.

Trump has already declared that “soon” US imperialist companies will begin drilling in Venezuelan soil in search of oil, which will bring billions of dollars to these companies. Meanwhile, Delcy Rodríguez boasted of having received $300 million for the sale of oil to the US, an ridiculous price compared to the billions promised by Trump to US magnates.

The interim president has also announced a major administrative reform with several ministerial changes. In the military arena, almost half of the defense operational zone commands have been changed, with Trump’s main concern being the “hard line” of General Diosdado Cabello, Interior Minister and responsible for mobilizing troops and the “Bolivarian militias”.

According to Reuters sources, the main fear of the Yankees is that Cabello will use his influence over the majority of the troops, the Bolivarian Guard, and the armed Venezuelan Collectives in defense of the country to promote a great anti-imperialist uprising and against the delivery of resources.
