Mexico – February 3: Let’s Deploy Combative Actions Before the Imperialist Aggression!

We hereby share an unofficial translation of an article by Sol Rojo in response to the call made by the Coordinating Committee of the Anti-imperialist League (AIL) to make February 3 the Day of International Action to Reject the Yankee Imperialist Aggression in Venezuela.

The internationalist call is an organized response from the peoples of the world after one month since the military aggression of Yankee imperialism against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela which resulted in the murder of around 100 people and the kidnapping of the President Nicolás Maduro and his partner, lawyer Cilia Flores.

As the fascist Donald Trump stated: the goal is the control of oil and the natural resources of the country. This, together with the subjugation of the interim government of Delcy Rodríguez to the plans of the gringo oligarchy, shows the total desperation of Yankee imperialism, who is drowning in its deepest crisis of decomposition amid the rising inter-imperialist contradictions.

The US imperialist government knows that its hegemony is at risk, so it is preparing the material conditions to unleash a new imperialist world war for the distribution of the world, and in this path it aims to make Our America the epicenter of its domain bringing back its “Monroe Doctrine”, believing that we are its “backyard”.

AIL writes in its statement:

“The prime objective of this offensive over Latin America is, in addition to the plunder of natural resources and raw materials, the military occupation of Latin America, to set up preparations for a new inter-imperialist contend for the re-partition of the world, the contention of the influence of powers such as China and Russia in the region and the economic, political, and military re-structuring of its rearguard, its “backyard” to face its economic, political and military crisis. They also seek to ward off any revolutionary mass uprising that struggle for their true liberation and threaten the existence of imperialism.”

The aggression against Venezuela is part of a general escalation against Our America, where Colombia and Mexico were also threatened, making clear its dominance over the lackey governments of Gustavo Petro and Claudia Sheinbaum, who will do what Trump orders.

Today, the intervention threats are centered on these and other countries of Our America, including Cuba, which gringos intend to suffocate with an economical blockade and tightening of policies against it in order to make its government fall and set a puppet government up. An example of this is the recent suspension of Mexican oil delivery to the island, which tends to worsen the economic ruin. This forces the Cuban people to stand up and start combative exercises in the defense of the homeland under the standard of Playa Girón, where the Cuban people inflicted the first military victory over Yankee imperialism in Our America in 1961.

AIL expresses:

“National sovereignty and the rights of the peoples can only be achieved through consistent anti-imperialist, revolutionary, and combative struggle.”

We, Current of the People Red Sun and the Promoting Committee of the AIL (Mexico), denounce that the federal government headed by Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and her party Morena are acting cowardly, as a servile tool of Yankee imperialism, administrating their interest from the old big landlord-bureaucratic State. Each of Sheinbaum’s and her government’s decisions violate national sovereignty and hand over the homeland on a silver platter to the imperialist enemy. All of these decisions are centered on pleasing Donald Trump and avoiding being punished by him.

In this sense, the suspension of energy in solidarity with Cuba is absolutely condemnable, as is the constant presence of airplanes, drones, ships, and U.S. military personnel on Mexican national territory. We denounce that Yankee imperialism seeks to impose a tolerated military occupation in our country, while the Mexican State and the big bourgeoisie increasingly subordinate themselves to it, deepening the semi-colonial status and subjugation of our country.
That is why we call on workers and peoples of Mexico to make this February 3 a Day of International Action, deploying combative actions before the imperialist aggression to reject the Yankee imperialist aggression in Venezuela and Our America, rising high the flags of the national liberation defense and the right of self-determination of our peoples.

Let’s deploy combative actions, making this February 3 a Day of International Action in solidarity with the people of Venezuela. Let’s unify the voices of workers and the peoples in Mexico with the voices and the peoples of the world for the construction of a powerful worldwide Anti-imperialist Front.
