FDLP – Ecuador: GREETINGS TO THE CREATION OF THE ANTI-IMPERIALIST FRONT OF ECUADOR

We hereby share an unofficial translation of the greeting made by the Defense Front of the People’s Struggles in Ecuador published on their webpage on 14th of February.

Defense Front of the People’s Struggles in Ecuador firmly greets the creation of the Anti-Imperialist Front of Ecuador, a valuable tool of political and social articulation for the unity of the working class, the youth, the peasantry and oppressed peoples in the indomitable and sustained struggle against imperialism of all kinds, mainly Yankee imperialism, and against its internal mechanisms: the big bourgeoisie, big landlords, its puppet governments and the opportunism of the domesticated left.

This greeting takes on urgency at a moment when the crisis of imperialism is manifested through increased aggression, predatory wars, economic blackmail, and open recolonization; and when, as the international appeal itself warns, the imperialists seek to place the “immense burden of their own crisis” on the shoulders of the working class and oppressed nations, intensifying oppression and exploitation.

In Ecuador, this aggression translates into policies of concession: the opening of territories to extractive voracity; grants and privileges to multinational mining companies; and the normalization of forms of submission to foreign intervention in questions of “security” that seek to turn our land into a functional asset in foreign disputes and geostrategic plans against other peoples. In response, the Anti-Imperialist Front of Ecuador emerges as a historical necessity: to organize resistance, elevate consciousness, and transform popular indignation into a united, disciplined, combative, and unwavering force in the struggle to defeat imperialism.

We therefore support the perspective put forth in the call for the Founding Congress of the Anti-imperialist League: that the strength of the oppressed arises from their unity, and that an anti-imperialist organization is needed to unite and promote the exploited “in the struggle against imperialism and its foundations.” On this path, we welcome the effort to forge an International Anti-Imperialist League as a global front against imperialist war, reaction, and fascism, in service of national liberation struggles and proletarian and popular struggles worldwide.

We call on the conscious sectors of the population—workers, poor peasants, students, and progressive intellectuals—to join forces, overcome dispersion, and turn internationalist solidarity into concrete action. Now more than ever, the slogan that resonates in the appeal must be transformed into militant practice.

LONG LIVE THE ANTI-IMPERIALIST FRONT OF ECUADOR!

FOR THE UNITY OF OPPRESSED PEOPLES AGAINST IMPERIALISM AND ITS LACKEYS!
