India: Memorial Service Held for Commanders Hidma and Raje

We hereby share an unofficial translation of an article published by Yeni Demokrasi.

On February 3, a memorial service was held in Puvarthi village for Madvi Hidma, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and a commander in the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), and Raje, a Party member.

Hidma, who was detained by the Indian army on November 15, 2025, was subjected to severe torture for three days before being murdered on November 18 along with six Maoists. Hidma’s name continues to resonate in actions, public gatherings, and various events organized in many parts of India.

On February 13th, a memorial service was held in Puvarthi village, Sukma district, Chhattisgarh state, with the participation of families and villagers, in accordance with the traditions of the Adivasi people. Mourning songs were sung throughout the service for Hidma and Raje.
