Brazil (AIL): The Baixada Santista Support Committee took part in a rally against US aggression in Venezuela
The population was receptive and many workers expressed their sympathy for the movement’s cause.
On 3 February 2026, the Support Committee of the newspaper AND – Baixada Santista (SP) took part in a rally against the imperialist attack and kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro by the US and in defense of the sovereignty of Venezuela and Latin America. This rally was organized by the People’s Committee for the Defense of Venezuela in Baixada Santista in front of the Estação da Cidadania de Santos.

As part of the protest action, a brigade was formed in the vicinity of the station, whose members spoke to passing workers, distributed leaflets from the International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) about this invasion, and presented issue No. 260 of the newspaper A Nova Democracia from November and December 2025.
The brigade members provided information about the smear campaign launched by big landlords and the repressive forces of the old State against the peasants organized in the League of the Poor Peasants and their right to self-defense.
The activists made it clear that the newspaper is independent and does not belong to any political party that participates in elections. The population was receptive and several workers expressed their sympathy for the movement.
