We hereby share an unofficial translation of an excerpt on Mexico from the latest Weekly Newsletter from Sol Rojo.

In yet another chapter of Yankee imperialist interference and the intensification of the war against the people, on the morning of Sunday, February 22, the news of the assassination of one of the most wanted drug lords in Mexico and the world shocked the country, not only because of its significance, but also because of the organization of the operation and the response of organized crime, which took place in more than 21 states of the republic.

Let’s look at the general aspects of the operation: 1) The Ministry of National Defense issued a statement reporting that… “with military intelligence work from the National Intelligence Center and the Attorney General’s Office (FEMDO), Mexican Army Special Forces planned and executed an operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco, in which various Air Force aircraft and the National Guard’s Special Immediate Response Force were involved in order to arrest Ruben “N” (a.k.a. Mencho).” 2) The same document reveals that… “in addition to the work of central military intelligence, within the framework of bilateral coordination and cooperation with the US, complementary information was provided by US authorities for the execution of this operation.” 3) Emphasizing the above, Karoline Leavitt, spokesperson for Donald Trump, responded by saying that the US president “praised and thanked the Mexican military” and confirmed that his government “provided intelligence support to federal forces in Mexico.” 4) To no one’s surprise, the existence and operation of a Counter Cartel – Joint Interagency Task Force has been confirmed, composed of elements from various US federal agencies operating in Mexican territory conducting military mapping and context analysis. 5) Sheinbaum and Harfuch have acknowledged this “cooperation,” which has been accompanied by several warning shots with the increasingly brazen entry of US aircraft, drones, ships, and military troops into national territory.

The toll claimed by the Mexican government and US imperialism after yesterday’s wave of national violence is 30 criminals killed, including the drug lord, and 70 arrested.

Everything seems to indicate that Yankee imperialism not only “provided intelligence information,” but also directed the operation, leaving the logistics and tasks in the hands of the Mexican State, hoping that it would take control of the situation, knowing that it would be incapable of doing so. This would lead to three circumstances that we have previously warned about:

I.- The spread of violence across more than half of the country was a scenario contemplated by the US and favors its claims for open military intervention, making it clear that the Mexican State does not have control over territorial governance (balkanization).

II.- With this, Yankee imperialism will tighten its grip on the Mexican State to facilitate the tolerated occupation of the national territory, acting at will when, where, and against whom it chooses.

III.- Amid increasingly strong documented accusations against MORENA Party for its collusion with criminal groups in the country, the death of the drug lord seems to have been more convenient for the regime than taking the risk of bringing him before the authorities.
