A paramilitary officer was injured in an IED explosion during an operation against the Maoist guerrillas in the district of West Singhbhum, Jharkand, on Sunday. The action occurred in Saranda forest, considered a Maoist stronghold.

The paramilitary officer was part of the commandos CoBRA, special operations unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Two more paramilitaries were injured: another officer suffered injuries during an armed exchange against Maoist guerrillas and was airlifted to Ranchi. Another paramilitary faced injuries in the same Saranda Forest.

Despite the triumphalism of the statements by the old Indian State’s Home Minister Amit Shah and Narendra Modi himself, the deadline marked by them to eliminate Maoism, March 31, approaches and the repressive forces are still facing casualties and the resistance by the Maoist guerrillas and masses led by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) continues.
