FDLP-Ecuador: INEVITABLY, IRAN WILL WIN!

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a statement issued by the Defense Front of the Struggles of the People in Ecuador (FDLP-EC).

We denounce and condemn with deep internationalist fervor and class hatred, the cowardly, treacherous, and criminal aggression of the US and Israel against the Iranian people. This was not a “preventive” action, as the cynical lie told by spokespeople of imperialism and of Zionism. We are facing an infamous act of war against a sovereign people. In the face of a deliberate massacre unleashed upon cities, neighborhoods, schools, homes and human beings who deserve to live under their designs and not those that are intended to be imposed from Washington.

In the last few hours, the offensive joint military action against Iran has left material destruction, collective pain and a trail of death whose only justification lies in imperialist expansionist politics and its lapdog: Israel.

But there are several facts that concentrate unbearably the full brutality of this barbarity: the bombing against a school, causing the deaths of dozens of children, among them around 60 girls and boys. It’s not just a cold number. It’s not just a statistic. That’s 60 lives taken miserably.

Similarly, it has been confirmed the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family; as if his assassination could weaken the resistance of the Iranian people, which does not rest on one individual, but in the firm will of a people who refuse to kneel kneeling before the executioners of the peoples of the world: the US and Israel.

The United States and Israel are burdened with full political, military, and moral responsibility for this barbarity. They are the ones responsible, they are the ones who plan the attacks, those who finance them, those who pull the trigger, those who defend them in the media, and those who cover them up with diplomatic speeches. There is no geopolitical argument, no narrative. Strategically, there is no propaganda that can wash away the blood of a people who have been attacked since 1979; the date on which he dared to demarcate fields with the Yankee imperialism. There is no excuse for imperialist terror or for the criminal Zionism when they unleash their power of death on the civilian population and they interfere, brazenly, in a country that is striving, at great cost. Making a great sacrifice for being, existing, independent and sovereign.

But it must also be unmasked the shameful stance of other imperialist powers that manifested themselves as “friends” of the Iranian people; who talk a lot and do little or nothing. Russia and China demonstrate once again that their supposed solidarity with the attacked peoples has narrow, calculated, miserable limits. Lots of abstract statements and calls abstract the notion of “restraint”, lots of diplomatic gestures, lots of empty phrases on sovereignty and international law. But when a people is bombed, when a school is left in ruins and children appear mutilated amidst the dust, as Iran’s supposed ‘allies’ are murdered cowardly, that solidarity of words reveals itself for what it is: a cold pose, calculated, self-serving, a solidarity without risk, without courage, without real commitment with the oppressed. Their prudent and measured language expresses their nature. Imperialist. And that must be understood; there are no ‘good’ imperialists; all of them, regardless of the color of their flag, are harmful, colonialist, predatory, and they do not see beyond their geopolitical logic and their economic interests.

And what about the UN, that a worn-out, hypocritical, and useless structure; always complicit with Yankee imperialism and with criminal Zionism. The UN calls for peace while the empires set countries ablaze. They express “concern” while children’s bodies are being burned, pulled from the rubble. They call for “restraint” from victims and perpetrators like if there were equivalence between the aggressor armed to the teeth and the people that provides the dead. Their bureaucratic neutrality is not humanity: it is complicity. Their cold language doesn’t honor the fallen, it manages them. His diplomacy does not protect people, it protects the rotten order that allows powerful people to kill with impunity.

We protest against this new massacre. We protest against the obscene hypocrisy of those who invoke rights humans only care when it serves their interests. We protest against the criminal dehumanization that turns schools into targets, neighborhoods into objectives and entire populations are being sacrificed. We protest because behind it all… Behind each attack are the same powers that speak of peace while organizing the war, they speak of civilization while sowing barbarism, they speak of democracy while they crush peoples.

We clearly state that the the oppressed peoples of the world cannot respond to this barbarity with lamentations. Empty words and empty solidarity are not enough. False solidarity in words is not enough. A well-intended statement is not enough. A lukewarm condemnation is not enough. A phrase is not enough. Diplomatic language drafted so as not to offend anyone. True solidarity with Iran, along with all the attacked peoples, demands a firm stance and outright condemnation, militant mobilization, active internationalism and determination to fight imperialism and criminal Zionism in all areas of political and popular struggle.

Because of what is happening to Iran today is not an isolated incident. It is part of the same machinery of domination that massacres Palestine; that attacked Venezuela; that threatens Cuba and everyone of those who are not aligned with its policies; it plunders villages, imposes blockades, it organizes coups, finances wars, and turns entire regions into battlegrounds. Slow or accelerated extermination. The enemy of the people has names. specifics, specific flags, specific armies, specific banks, and spokespeople concrete. And there is no room for illusions or cowardice in the face of it.

Iran is not alone. It is accompanied by the memory and dignity of the humiliated, plundered and bombarded of the world. They are accompanied by those who understand that imperialism cannot be appeased with pleas nor stopped with diplomatic formulas, but with resistance, organization, and consistent political struggle.

We demand the immediate cessation of the bombings, the end of imperialist and Zionist aggression against Iran and the punishment of those responsible for this carnage. However we also say that the justice for the people will not come from institutions of the same order as the ones oppressing them. It will come from the struggle of the people, from their unity, from their capacity to turning indignation into organized force and solidarity into action.

We also express our solidarity with the members of the Iranian Cultural Center in the city of Quito, which was violently attacked by hordes incited by Zionism.

Our combative response to bombs. Impunity, our uncompromising denunciation. Faced with horror, our militant solidarity with the Iranian people, and against Yankee imperialism and Criminal Zionism, the unwavering decision of oppressed peoples to not remain silent, to not back down and to fight until this system is uprooted and crushes war, plunder and death.
