Give us an Organization of Revolutionary Workers, and we will Turn France Upside Down!
We hereby share an unofficial translation of an important report published by La Cause du Peuple.
On March 7, 2026, La Cause du Peuple was invited to Limoges to cover the 1stNational Workers’ Meeting; an event that our editorial staff considers fundamental in the struggle for the organization of the working class for the Revolution.
It was in the city where the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) was founded that more than 40 workers and proletarians from industry, rail, hospitals, energy, commerce, construction, transport, etc., gathered for a revolutionary political meeting.
Before beginning their work, all participants stood up in homage to the resistance of peoples against imperialism, particularly the Iranian nation and the entire greater Arab world, which is firmly resisting today the unprecedented attacks from US imperialism and its dog Israel.
To begin this workday, the comrades, workers and proletarians, combative union members, made a presentation tour which launched the event with force: every struggle led by the comrades, every small victory wrested from their boss locally or nationally, every battle won was applauded vigorously.

The participants then set about uniting on a basic ideological and political document of about sixty pages, as well as an organizational document. The organized workers repeatedly emphasized that it is unity of thought and unity of plan that forges our class for struggle; this is why they studied each part of the documents in order to emerge from this meeting completely united. The agenda included discussions on capitalism and imperialism, the situation of the proletariat in France, as well as on the history and tasks of the Communist Movement, and on the limitations of trade unionism for our class.
We are publishing here the fundamental principles derived from these documents, with the agreement of the organizers, in order to make them available to our readers:
“1. The masses make history;
2. The struggles for rights and the economy are necessary, but the main one is the political struggle for the conquest of Power. For this, we will need to reconstitute the Communist Party;
3. Opportunism and revisionism are the main problems in the workers’ movement; we must carry the class line into the Trade Union;
4. Conscious workers must act in a combative manner, struggle for unity and rely only on the strength of their class;
5. Proletarian internationalism is rooted in our hearts and we put it into practice.”
Finally, after a long day of work, debate, and discussion, the comrades unanimously voted to establish a basis for unity. The working comrades repeatedly emphasized that ” the most important thing was to apply Marxism concretely, within the class, ” because ” the working class needs political organization to carry out the Socialist Revolution ,” after ” decades of opportunism and revisionism dominating the workers’ movement .” This is a line that La Cause du Peuple has fully supported since its inception, and which it is proud to see developing directly within the heart of the proletariat.
Subsequently, a tribute was paid to Pierre Semard, a great communist and trade union leader, with March 7th chosen as the date of his execution by the Nazis. Here is the video made by his comrades for the occasion:
To conclude, the organizers planned a large meal and an evening of camaraderie in a genuine atmosphere of fraternity and shared struggle, where everyone sang workers’ songs at the top of their lungs. The future will be built through concrete actions, and several initiatives are already planned.
Our correspondents on the ground were themselves delighted to see such an event taking place in France, while many are counting on the “defeat” of the working class. It would seem that the working class has not yet had its final say, quite the contrary… So, onward with the proletarian counter-offensive!
