The third week of the Yankee imperialist war of aggression on Iran is coming to a close as escalations in the attacks on energy infrastructure from the US and Israel, and subsequent retaliations from Iran, causes the price in crude oil to yet again soar. The criminal aggression of the lackey Israel is continuing in Lebanon, while Iran keeps waging retaliatory attacks on targets in the region, despite the claims of Yankee imperialism that their military capabilities have been decimated.
South Pars gas field is the worlds largest natural gas reserve and serves to supply a large share of Iran’s domestic energy needs and is critical for electricity generation and heating. Iran states that this attack “marked a deliberate shift toward economic warfare, aimed not only at infrastructure but at the foundations of civilian life.” After yesterdays attack on South Pars gas field by Yankee imperialism, Iran has waged retaliatory strikes against energy infrastructure in the Gulf States, announced as part of the 63rd wave of “Operation True Promise 4”.
One retaliatory attack struck, and heavily damaged, Qatar’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility, Ras Laffan. This comes after multiple warnings from Iran that they would retaliate if their energy and economic infrastructure was targeted. Qatar has subsequently expelled Iranian military and diplomatic ambassadors from its country, and opened for the possibility of military retaliations were these attacks to continue. Kuwait’s Shuaiba oil refinery was also damaged by a retaliatory strike.
This has sent the oil prices skyrocketing, increasing the Brent crude oil benchmark from ~100 USD per barrel yesterday, to 115 USD per barrel today. Reflecting fears that opening up for a war which continuously escalates the targeting of energy infrastructure in the region will lower further the already significantly lowered supply for the unforeseen future, causing further volatility in global markets, and having potentially devastating consequences on global supply chains.
According to a report by Al Mayadeen, the US MQ-9 Reaper drone, used substantially so far in the war of aggression on Iran, has caused approximately 330 million USD in losses for Yankee imperialism. 12 US Reaper drones have reportedly been shot down since the start of the war.
Faced with a war of aggression that is showing to be longer and more costly than Yankee imperialism anticipated, Pentagon has asked the White House for 200 billion USD in funding for the war on Iran. In a display of imperial arrogance and disdain, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that “obviously, it takes money to kill bad guys”, and that “as far as the $200 billion, I think that number could move.”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it has successfully targeted 80 military sites across Israel, along with four US bases in the Gulf region, in a continuation of the 63rd wave of “Operation True Promise 4”. The strikes allegedly specifically targeted support facilities and military installations in the southern and central regions of Israel, “including Rishon LeZion and Ramla in the center, Eilat (Umm al-Rashrash) in the south, Ramat Gan and Bnei Brak east of Tel Aviv, and Bat Yam south of Tel Aviv.”
The IRGC Navy announced earlier in the day that it had destroyed key infrastructure at four US bases located in the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain, stating “a combined missile and drone assault successfully struck the command center, fuel tanks, and equipment hangars at Minhad Air Base in the UAE. Concurrently, early warning radars and the central ramp at Al-Udairi Air Base in Kuwait were targeted and hit by ballistic missiles.” The attacks also allegedly extended to Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi and the Fifth Fleet headquarters at Mina Salman Port in Bahrain.
Israel has expanded its aggression in the region, now for the first time striking positions in northern Iraq. Casualties have been reported by the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), a resistance force in the region.
The murderous Israeli aggression against Lebanon has so far caused the displacement of over one million people and the murder of 968 people, with a further 2,432 injured. According to a military commander of the State of Israel, troops in the ongoing ground invasion of Lebanon have been doubled.
Hezbollah’s resistance combatants announced ambushes of Israeli forces in the southern Lebanese border with Israel as they attempted to advance in the southern border town of Taybe.
Detailing the engagement in a statement: “For the third time in a week, the Israeli enemy army attempted another advance in the town of Taybeh towards the Baydar Al-Faqa’ani area north of the town. After spotting the advancing enemy force, Islamic Resistance fighters ambushed them, targeting them with guided missiles that destroyed one of the tanks,” According to an Al-Manar correspondent, this marks 27 Merkava tanks so far destroyed since the aggression against Lebanon started on March 2nd.
