An Event For the Al-Quds Day in Brasilia

A political and cultural event commemorating International Al-Quds Day brought together popular organizations, diplomatic representatives, political parties, and democratic media outlets in Brasília on the evening of Friday, March 13. The event expressed solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people and denounced the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the imperialist policies of the United States in the Middle East.
The event was held in the Marco Aurélio Garcia Auditorium and was organized by the Brazil-Palestine Institute (Ibraspal). The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Brazil, as well as representatives from the Arab Palestinian Federation of Brazil (Fepal), the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and the Cuban Embassy. Trade unions, political parties, and social movements also participated, including the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL), the Workers’ Cause Party (PCO), the Landless Workers’ Movement (MST), the General Abreu e Lima Anti-Imperialist Committee, and the Honestino Guimarães Base Collective (CBHG). Supporters of the anti-imperialist struggle were also present, such as journalist Ana Prestes, granddaughter of Luiz Carlos Prestes and Olga Benário.
The event began with a musical performance by the Duo Accordi group. Following this, the Brazilian National Anthem and the Palestinian National Anthem were played, followed by a minute of silence in homage to the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, martyred in a recent attack against Iran perpetrated by the chief lackey of Yankee imperialism, the Nazi-Zionist terrorist “State” of “Israel”. After the tribute, the audience chanted slogans such as Long live the Islamic Revolution!, Long live Free Palestine!, and Long live the legitimate resistance of the peoples!
