Anti-imperialist Event in Brasília Strengthens Internationalist Solidarity

An anti-imperialist event was organized on 23rd of March in the auditorium of the Institute of Human Sciences (ICH) of the University of Brasilia (UnB). The event was titled “Anti-imperialist struggle and internationalist solidarity” and addressed the different struggles that develop across the world, such as the struggle of the Cuban and Venezuelan peoples, the Palestinian, Western Sahara and Iranian national resistances, the Agrarian revolution in Brazil, as well as the People’s Wars in Peru, Turkey, India and the Philippines.

The event was impulsed by the Executive of Pedagogy Students of Brasilia (ExBEPe). The discussion panel was formed by relevant figures of the anti-imperialist struggle, such as professor Rogério Basali, of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Brasilia (UnB); Pedro Batista, of the Anti-fascist International; Sayid Tenório, of the Brazil-Palestine Institute (Ibraspal); Freddy Meregote, of the Committee for the Release of Cilia Flores y Nicolás Maduro; and Ahmed Mulay Ali, from the Polisarian Front and diplomatic representative of the Democratic Arab Western Sahara Republic (RASD). Moreover, ExBEPe representatives contributed to the panel. The speakers shared the opinion that internationalist unity is not an abstract concept, rather a fundamental instrument to confront external aggression and to defend sovereignty of the peoples against exploitation.

During the event it was highlighted that this week, on 28^th of March, an International Day of Action, will be organized based on a call made to democratic and popular organizations by the Forum Against Corporatization and Militarization (FACAM), to carry out support actions, protests and campaigns demanding the end of Operation Kagaar in India.

The event concluded with a call for organizing a world resistance front, and the activists highlighted that the Congress for the Foundation of the Anti-Imperialist League will take place on 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th of April in Ecuador.
