Mexico: Weekly Newsletter

We hereby share an unofficial translation of the part on Mexico in the Weekly Newsletter published by Sol Rojo on March 30th.

March 30 marks the first anniversary of the passing of Professor Celedonio Luis Santibáñez, who was the founder of our democratic organization, a member of our historic contingent, and a prominent member of the Political Commission of the Current of the People Red Sun.

Among Red Sun activists and the peasant, popular, and labor organizations he helped build over so many years, only fond memories remain of Comrade Celedonio; that is why, everywhere, his name and memory carry more weight than the largest mountain in this country. Comrade Celedonio Luis Santibáñez dedicated his life to the Revolution, serving the working class and the oppressed peoples under his enduring teaching, which became a rallying cry for action: Task set, task accomplished!

Professor Celedonio lived his life serving the people with all his heart, and that is how he breathed his last breath—fighting cancer, knowing that he was leaving behind legions of steel with red flags flying high. To honor his memory, his family has held various ceremonies over the past few days, and a massive memorial is planned for tonight in one of the communities that Professor Celedonio helped build.

Professor Celedonio Luis Santibáñez, with us now and always!

Not even death could defeat you!
