AND Editorial – Supporting the Revolution in India and the National Resistance in Palestine and Iran is the Most Important Task for Anti-imperialists Around the World

We hereby share an unofficial translation of the first part of the Editorial published by A Nova Democracia (AND) on the 4th of April.

We have passed the infamous March the 30th, 2026, declared by the fascist Indian government of Narendra Modi—that notorious genocidal figure who built his political career on the slaughter of the poor—as the date for the extinction of the historic and vigorous Naxalite Movement in the country. Nevertheless, the People’s War led by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) continues to move forward against the wind and tide of the counterrevolution. The available information points to a critical situation created by the genocidal military repression against the Adivasi people and other poor people in rural and urban areas, as well as targeted operations against the leadership of the CPI (Maoist), combined with the activities of the fifth column led by Mallujola Venugopal, known as “Sonu”. The Sonu-Satish clique, composed of senior Party leaders, had access to vast amounts of information and vital secrets regarding the organization’s operations, its codes, keys, and passwords used in communications among leaders, as well as the leadership’s connections to all Party networks and the guerrilla army—information that was crucial to the lives and safety of its leaders and commanders. It is not difficult, but rather logical, to conclude that these traitors provided the authorities of the fascist regime with the Party’s secrets—and did so well in advance, which explains why Modi publicly stated over a year ago that “Operation Kagaar” would wipe out the revolutionary movement. Information that enabled the planning of a military campaign based on a thorough understanding of the positions, numbers, and size of the guerrilla units, their movements and routes of travel, chain of command, and who held key and strategic posts and functions. Information from the Party that made possible the campaign of encirclement and annihilation, employing contingents of hundreds of thousands of troops and every kind of means of warfare by air and land, which led—not without fierce fighting—to the heroic deaths in battle of hundreds of guerrillas and commanders, while the assassination squads—specialists in massacres maintained by Modi’s genocidal regime—spent months entering villages and carrying out massacres to force families to reveal the names of their sons and daughters who were members of the Maoist guerrilla movement; furthermore, they spread threats to the guerrillas, warning that if they did not surrender, their families would be wiped out—as they in fact did to hundreds of them.

The most nefarious and wretched beings, ever present in the dark side of the history of human society ever since it was divided into antagonistic classes with the advent of private property, have once again revealed themselves with the baseness and cowardice of traitors. But they did not commit this act merely to save their own skins as mere deserters; by betraying their former comrades, they colluded with the long-standing enemy of the Indian people, making use of its infiltrated agents and its fifth column within the leadership of the revolutionary movement in order to destroy it. Such betrayal stemmed directly and inevitably from their revisionist positions, based on Khrushchev’s verbiage about “dogmatism”—a line repeated by their followers in the 21st century—rotten thesis rejected by the firmness of the historical Marxist-Leninist-Maoist line of the CPI (Maoist): the scientific understanding of the nature of contemporary Indian society as a semi-colonial, semi-feudal country that demands a Revolution for New Democracy, an uninterrupted transition to socialism through Prolonged People’s War, and in the service of the World Proletarian Revolution. Thus, the Sonu-Satish clique not only handed over information, locations, and addresses of secret facilities, but also revealed the identities of leaders and cadres, but also instilled capitulation, surrender, and liquidation of the revolutionary Party reconstituted through the epic uprising of Naxalbari and its greatest interpreter, the relentless anti-revisionist Charu Mazumdar, and through the great sacrifice of successive generations of young revolutionaries who gave their lives to to carry forward the heroic struggle of the proletariat and the masses of India, the Maoist Communist Party, and the scientific Protracted People’s War. The traitors, as history of humanity has proved over thousands of years, many times they die before actually dying.

Every true revolution faces situations of indescribable hardship, as the historical experience of class-based societies demonstrates, and all setbacks, while they must be the subject of serious study to draw new lessons. For the Indian Revolution, such setbacks only confirm the correctness of the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Ideology, Program, and General Political Line of the CPI (Maoist). The right-wing capitulationists and liquidationists also have their international followers who distort by pretending to support the CPI (Maoist) while, in practice, attacking its scientific Marxist-Leninist-Maoist analysis of Indian society and its path of Protracted People’s War.

Modi’s fascist government boasts as if it had crushed the Indian Revolution. It is delusional, just like all shameless and disguised opportunists. Modi declared on March 30 that the country is “free of Maoism.” Nevertheless, it is well known that the revolutionary struggle in the country is deeply rooted, its antagonistic contradictions are more acute than ever, and the class struggle continues unabated. Even reactionary Indian analysts acknowledge that Maoism is deeply rooted in the Adivasi communities and other impoverished masses in both rural and urban areas, and no matter how devastating this blow to the CPI (Maoist) may have been, it cannot eliminate the movement’s basis, much less the Party committees and their leaders of unwavering communist firmness. The government itself, cynically, while declaring “total victory,” acknowledges that there are still members of the Maoist leadership active in guerrilla areas, as well as other regional leaders in Dandakaranya, and that there are numerous active guerrillas in Bastar. Military analysts on the reactionary side acknowledge that the Maoists have changed their modus operandi, shifting from large companies to small detachments, in an effort to reverse the critical situation the revolutionary struggle has reached due to the cowardly betrayal of the Sonu-Satish clique of informers.

The anti-imperialist struggle, which is the very foundation of the World Proletarian Revolution, is led by the international proletarian movement, present in all countries, and by the Communist Parties that are developing, being reconstituted, and being established. These two currents that define it are leading the New Democratic Revolutions in the countries oppressed by imperialism, which comprise the vast majority of nations and the overwhelming majority of their populations, and the Socialist Revolution in the imperialist countries. The Indian Revolution, as well as the People’s Wars in Peru, Turkey, and the Philippines, unite these two currents in a single struggle within their respective countries. These are anti-imperialist struggles, led by the proletariat, which help to ensure that Maoism establishes itself as the guiding principle of the World Proletarian Revolution. In this regard, the most advanced anti-imperialist struggles—standing shoulder to shoulder in the construction and development of the united front of the working classes, both rural and urban, the petty and middle bourgeoisie, and nations oppressed by imperialist warmongering—are exemplified by the brilliant national liberation struggles of Palestine and Iran, which are carried out in an exemplary and heroic manner, and therefore require our full support. Supporting the Indian Revolution, the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and its People’s War, as well as the Palestinian and Iranian national resistance struggles, is the highest duty of all internationalists and anti-imperialists around the world.
