Hezbollah combatants carried out a large-scale ambush between Taybeh and Qantara. The ambush targeted a unit trying to cross the Litani River, eliminating one Israeli soldier and injuring 20 more.
The ambush began with concentrated barrage of rockets and mortar fire. The Palestine Chronicle reports that “The precision of the strikes suggested pre-planned targeting and real-time monitoring.” Facing severe hardships in their attempts at continuing the operation and evacuating the injured soldiers, the Israelis were forced to flee the area, withdrawing equipment, including bulldozers, bridging systems, inflatable boats, etc.
Footage of the aftermath of the ambush has been released:
Despite the recent statements made by the Israeli government affirming that they would occupy southern Lebanon until Litani River, now the Israeli officials state that they “have reached what has been defined as the “front line” in operational plans”, which is 10 kilometers from the river, and they are halting their operations. The invaders are facing much more resistance than what they expected, and once more, the invincibility of the Israeli armed forces has been revealed as a hoax.
