We hereby share an unofficial translation of the part of Mexico of the Weekly Newsletter published by Sol Rojo on the 6th of April.
On its website, Newspaper Mural (PM), a popular and democratic newspaper, has announced the release of its 28th issue, continuing its bimonthly publication schedule. At the same time, we would like to report that on April 1, a news website called “Punto y Aparte Oaxaca”, linked to sinister interests within the State apparatus, published a false news story and launched a full-scale smear campaign and media attacks against our democratic organization and our comrade Yolanda Ruiz, in response to which we issued a statement clarifying the facts.
The experience of the people’s movement teaches us that smear campaigns like these, orchestrated by the power and carried out by “police-media” mercenaries, seek to create the conditions that justify repression against organized sectors.
This situation is not isolated, for as we have recently denounced, our comrade Eric Sánchez Gutiérrez has also been the target of sabotage and theft against his vehicle in recent days.
All these events are the response of the old Mexican State to our Day of Action in Defense of the People’s Rights, against imperialist interference and aggression, held last March, and constitute desperate actions aimed at halting the work of our upcoming Second SolRojista Political Congress. They will come up against a wall of steel!
Finally, we report that the proceedings of our Second SolRojista Political Congress will be dedicated to the immortal memory of our comrade Professor Celedonio Luis Santibáñez, founder of our democratic organization, a member of our historic contingent, and a prominent member of the Political Commission of the Current of the People Red Sun, as well as to the memory of all our martyrs, now enshrined as heroes of the people.
We say that the reactionaries and imperialism are mistaken if they think their attacks will succeed in halting the upward march of our forces. Those who think this way are doomed to fail until their final defeat. Us workers and peoples are destined to win.
With the Red Sun, the people will triumph!
