Various popular organizations participated in defense of “human rights,” including collectives and unions of workers and students, as well as Current of the People Red Sun. In Tamaulipas, posters were put up, especially at the port of Tampico:

In Mexico City posters were put up at the Universidad Autónoma (UACM). On the same day, a combative march took place, in which OLEP, MULT, FNLS, Current of the People Red Sun and others participated. In this march, the names of “comrades from the revolutionary movement who have been disappeared by the regime, which has also tried in every way to erase them from collective memory, were remembered. These comrades are: Gabriel Alberto Cruz Sánchez and Edmundo Reyes Amaya, members of the Popular Revolutionary Army (EPR); sisters Virginia and Daniela Ortiz Ramírez, from the Movement for Unification and Triqui Struggle (MULT); Teódulo Flores Soriano “El Tío,” a supporter of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle; Fidencio Gómez Sántiz, from the National Front for the Struggle for Socialism (FNLS); and of course, Ernesto Sernas García, from Current of the People Red Sun.“

In Oaxaca, a united and combative march took place, bringing together more than a thousand people demanding the presentation of Dr. Sernas García alive. Hundreds of flags from the Current of the People Red Sun stood out during the mobilization. Many other participants were seen, including various union sections and progressive organizations.

The streets were filled with posters featuring the face and name of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García. Dozens of graffiti were made throughout the march route. Activists carried out numerous actions at local businesses, storefronts, banks, monopoly establishments, etc.

The police, heavily armed, attempted to intimidate the contingent and prevent them from carrying out actions of putting up posters and from carrying out graffiti. However, the protesters responded firmly, and there are even photographs of police vehicles with posters and graffiti on them:

Upon arriving at the city’s main square, a rally was held. Slogans were shouted demanding the presentation of Dr. Sernas alive and calling for the dismissal of Míchel Julián López from the State Commission for the Search of Disappeared Persons for the State of Oaxaca (CEBPEO). This was accompanied by a powerful display of flares, smoke and red flags.
