
France: Update on the Actions on September 10th

La Cause du Peuple has published some initial remarks regarding the mobilizations which took place yesterday. The numbers are still uncertain, “but according to the announcement from the oh-so-dishonest Ministry of the Interior and its sadly resigned Minister Retailleau, no fewer than 29,000 people participated in these blockades.” Besides the numbers of participants, La Cause du Peuple evaluates that the actions had a strong political content since “they were actions that were neither legal nor declared, and which had been deemed unacceptable by the government even before the beginning of the movement.” The variety of actions is broad: blockades of ring roads, roundabouts, depots, high schools (100 disrupted and 27 completely blocked).

In Lille a red bloc was formed by Jcnord, the Fédération Syndicale Étudiante (FSE) Lille and Jeunes Revolutionnaires (JR):
Clermont-Ferrrand was also blockaded. Police forces arrested one person and used tear gas extensively:
Combative protests took place in Marseille, where the CGT union have been preparing the blockades for several days:
In this city, the company Eurolinks, which fabricates weapon-parts exported to Israel, was blockaded:
Many examples of police violence have been reported. In Paris, the police used tear gas against a nursery school, affecting many children:
