2 Soldiers Eliminated in a Military Action in the Philippines
Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) reports that red fighters of the Lucio de Guzman Command-NPA Mindoro engaged in a gunfight with the 76th Infantry Battalion (IB) of the old State of the Philippines on November 26th, eliminating two soldiers.
In Sitio Balite, Barangay Lumangbayan, Abra de Ilog Occidental Mindoro, the NPA fighters encountered the operating 76th IBPA, they “quickly opened fire and fought back in an organized manner.” They write that as a result of the encounter, two soldiers were eliminated, and several others were left wounded.
PRWC also reports that “Since November 22nd, the Arnulfo Ortiz Command has been engaged in a series of armed clashes with troops of the 801st Infantry Brigade near Barangay Gereganan, Gandara, Western Samar.” They write that the 3rd IB, 46th IB and the 52nd IB are present in the area, increasing their operations in the countryside, with the aid of air support such as attack helicopters.
