Norway: Demonstration in Oslo Against the Bombing of Iran

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by Kampkomiteen.

On Thursday, March 26, a demonstration was organizedat Grønlands Torgagainst US imperialism and Israel’s bombing of Iran, organized by the Kampkomiteen and the Woman,Life and Freedom Committee.

Red Youth, Oslo Socialist Youth, Ottar Women’s Group, Inclusive Feminism, Tech Action Group, Resistencia INTIFADA, International Socialists, Latin America Group Oslo (LAG), Anti-Racist Center and the Communist Party of Norway joined the demonstration. Around 100 people participated in the demonstration.

Speeches were held at Grønlands Torg before the demonstration marched to Youngstorget. In the speeches, the attacks of US imperialism were condemned and declared to be a violation of international law. In their speech, Kampkomiteen emphasized the right of nations to self-determination and the right of the oppressed to resistance.

The demonstration march chanted high-energy slogans in support of the Iranian people, such as “Get out of Iran!”, “Woman, life, freedom! – Jin, Jian, Azadi!”, “Strengthen international solidarity!”, “Down with the USA! Down with Israel!”, “Death to imperialism!” and “USA, USA – How many kids did you kill today!”. Slogans in solidarity with Palestine were also chanted, such as “Free, free Palestine!”. The police chose to follow the march the entire way by car.
