The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continue their offensive on the island of Mindoro against the New People’s Army (NPA) and also continue committing crimes against the people, Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) reports. Despite the old State’s claims that the guerrilla is weakening, the NPA has inflicted several casualties in one week to the enemy.

The combatants of the NPA-Lucio de Guzman Command (LDGC) fought against the 68th Infantry Battalion (IB) in Occidental Mindoro on March the 24th, when three soldiers were eliminated, and two others were injured. The unit of the LDGC retreated without casualties.

The NPA-Mindoro defeated again the 68th IB in Occidental Mindoro, on March the 29th, 2026. This was the second encounter in one week. An officer was eliminated and two other soldiers were injured. PRWC denounces that the old State’s soldiers, humiliated by these defeats, captured a civilian youth, Charlize Garzon, a young cultural activist.

The old State claims that the NPA is weakening, but PRWC states that “the battles that have taken place in Mindoro prove the continued advancement and strengthening of the revolutionary movement on the island of Mindoro.”
