Philippines: 3 Soldiers and a Rapist Eliminated in NPA Actions
Several military operations have been carried out by the New People’s Army (NPA) over the last couple of weeks. On September 22, the Roselyn Jean Pelle Command-New People’s Army (RJPC-NPA) raided the office of despotic landlord Atty. Klint Aranas in Sitio Ma-aswa.
The NPA combatants disarmed the goons of the landlord, and confiscated several weapons, Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) reports. PRWC writes that “this tactical offensive was launched in memory of and to provide justice to the victims of the Escalante Massacre, Martial Law during the era of dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., and even the victims of the Sagay 9 and Toboso 19 massacres.”
On September 27, in San Jose de Buan a soldier of the 8th Infantry Division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines was eliminated after combatants of the NPA encountered him, and promptly shot him dead, PRWC reports. Meanwhile, another soldier was eliminated, and two more wounded, after an NPA ambush on a road.
On September 29, combatants of the NPA opened fire on soldiers of the 79th Infantry Battalion (IB) in Sitio Bautista, Barangay Malasibog. PRWC reports that the exchange left one soldier eliminated and, two more wounded. After the encounter the NPA combatants withdrew safely, while the soldiers of the 79th IB continued shooting blindly for more than an hour, PRWC reports.
On October 4, a known rapist and resident of Purok 1 (alias Natan), in Barangay Yaoyao, Cauayan town, Negros Occidental, was sentenced to death in his home. The rapist had a case against him of raping a minor from 2024, of which the State failed to take appropriate action, PRWC reports.
PRWC writes: “Based on the proper process of investigation, verification of the case and the trial, alias Natan was sentenced to death by the revolutionary court. However, the appeal of the individuals concerned was heard and given the opportunity to change himself and not repeat the crime.
However, starting in 2026, Natan repeated his rape of the same minor victim several times and threatened to kill the victim if she told her parents.”
On this basis, the office of the revolutionary People’s Court increased the sentence to a death penalty against Natan, which was “immediately carried out by an NPA unit under Armando Sumayang Jr. Command as the legitimate agency of execution of the judgment of the revolutionary People’s Court.” as PRWC reports.
