This attack was doe near Cinelândia square and took place while several meetings of the leadership of G20 took place and in the midst of demonstrations in defense of Palestine.

After the explosive attack, the branch was closed. Also, a police officer stated to an AND correspondent that other similar actions “could take place during the day”.

Large marches were also done during the imperialist G20 summit, were anti-imperialist and pro-Palestinian banners and posters were seen.

In the same square where the explosion happened, Cinelândia square, the historical city center of Rio de Janeiro, there was a large demonstration in defense of Palestine. In this demonstration a banner of the Anti-imperialist League was seen.
