On February 20, various activities were held in the framework of the 6th anniversary of the murder of comrade Samir Flores Soberanes, who was an opponent of the imposition of the so-called Morelos Integral Project and a member of the Peoples’ Front in Defense of the Land and Water of Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala (FPDTA). The call was issued by the FPDTA and the National Indigenous Congress (CNI), who called for actions in Mexico and other parts of the world. This call was joined by the comrades of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation(EZLN), who on Saturday, February 22, held a series of mobilizations in the State of Chiapas, where thousands of militiamen and supporters participated in at least 12 caracoles (translators note: autonomous zones or communities established by the EZLN in Chiapas). In other news, in Oaxaca the Current of the People Red Sun has announced the beginning of the Day of Struggle in Defense of the Rights of the People, Justice and Freedom starting next March 3, which will kick off with a rally and march in the city of Oaxaca denouncing the Mexican State and its policy of faking in the cases of justice that the democratic organization demands, such as the alive presentation of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García, justice for the murdered comrades Luis Armando Fuentes Aquino, Jesús Manuel García Martínez and Félix Vicente Cruz, the immediate and unconditional release of the political prisoner Arnulfo García Santos, among other demands for justice and human rights.
