Mexico: Report on the Mobilizations, due to 7 Years of the Forced Disappearance of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García
We hereby share an unofficial translation of the following report of the mobilizations, due to the 7 years of the forced disappearance of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García, which lasted from the 10th to the 12th of May published by Sol Rojo Mexico.

10th of May
The last 10th of May marked the 7 years of the forced disappearance of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García. In marking this event there have been the United March of Searching Mothers and Families, to which diverse collectives assisted, with the family of Dr. Sernas, the People’s Women’s Movement (MFP) and Former Political Prisoners of June 2015, who were arbitrarily detained and been accused of terrorism and of carrying explosives of exclusive military use. This was the last big teacher’s defense that Sernas García was leading before his disappearance.
The march departed from the Monument of the Mother on the main square of the City of Resistance. The first slogan heard was Dr. Ernesto Sernas García present him alive! Alive they took him away, alive we want him back!
This march sought to unify the searching mothers and families who didn’t want to negotiate with the State and demanded the return of their relatives alive, clarifying that this search is priceless and that they are not disposed to accept a penny from the State, that always tries with his perverted institutions like the State Search Commission or the State Commission of attention to Victims to apply the politics of “divide and conquer” to break the forces of the searching mothers and families.
During the march every collective took a position and shouted the names of their disappeared. Along the march leaflets that the same families made contained pictures of the faces of the disappeared. Again the streets were flooded with the face of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García.
Arriving at the main square of the City of Resistance, a rally was carried out where the State’s incompetence to guarantee the search of the disappeared was highlighted. From the 1960s until now, there are more than 127 thousand of disappeared across the country, and in Oaxaca the number is over than 4,500 disappeared people, one of them is comrade Sernas García and other political disappearances, especially from the Democratic Teachers of the CNTE and the guerrilla.
The United March is a clear example that before the omission of the State, the people are organizing themselves toward the construction of the United Front that seeks to stop the war against the people and the State’s terrorism. The names of our disappeared droned in the Palace of Ignominy, as well as their faces being displayed there, so the regime doesn’t forget that we keep on searching them.

But not only in Oaxaca have there been marches of the searching mothers, in different states of the republic the mothers took to the streets demonstrating that the 10th of May is not a day of celebration for them; it’s a day of struggle and protest, beginning with the mothers and fathers of the 43 education students of Ayotzinapa and the different collectives that demand, Truth and Justice!
10th and 11th of May
Also in the city of Tampico Tamaulipas, on the Weapons Square, revolutionary activists together with other searching collectives, raised their voices for the demand of presentation alive of Dr. Sernas García and the hundreds who have been disappeared by force from the north-west of the country. There the searching mothers carried out an important rally. The comrades of Tamaulipas filled the streets in the center of Tampico, with the face of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García in support of the international campaign for his presentation alive #DrSernasPresentaciónConVida.
We deeply thank them for that beautiful expression of class solidarity and proletarian spirit for the construction of the People’s Front as the revolutionary front of the masses.
12th of May
Following with our Day of Struggle in Defense of Rights of the People, justice and Freedom, the Current of the People Red Sun took to the streets on the 12th of May in a combative march with one sole intention: the presentation alive of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García. From very early on hundreds of SolRojistas who came from different regions united themselves on the spring of 8 regions. The march began with: “Dr. Ernesto Sernas García present him alive! Alive they took him away, alive we want him back!” A slogan that vibrates all through all strings of the body and expresses that we will never renounce this demand.
Youth, children and adults, men and women, took to the streets, shouting slogans, putting up posters with the name and face of Dr. Sernas. At every moment, with every step, you could see the indignation of the contingent, demanding justice and denouncing the violations, omissions and simulations that the old Mexican State has committed in these last 7 years.
The same day marked the beginning of the Solidarity Week for Palestine, which was summoned by the Current of the People Red Sun as a part of the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL), therefore during the whole course you could see flags of Palestine and calls for a commercial boycott against the establishments of the transnational enterprises that support the genocide in Gaza. On many dazibaos with the Palestine Flags you could see the face of comrade Dr. Ernesto Sernas Garcia, therefore the masses were shouting firmly Sernas and Palestine will win!
The march arrived at the main square of the City of Resistance, filling the square with red flags, slogans, posters and Palestine flags with the face of our comrade. The rally began and each one of the orators denounced that the forced disappearing is a State’s crime; some mentioned that they had to wait for 5 years and 10 months until they gave to know the date of search of Dr. Sernas García and shortly thereafter the CEBPEO carried out a photo leaflet action on three places San Agustín de las Juntas, Ciudad Universitaria and Santa Rosa Panzacola, but this was only a simulation because they only shared a few leaflets in haste. Moreover the State Commission of Search canceled on two occasions the forensic search of our comrade with various pretexts like the lack of equipment or personal (despite that the federation has reached more resources for that local commission in specific) what for the commission have been questioned strongly by all the orators of the organization. It was also mentioned that the forced disappearing of Doctor Sernas is continuing crime that passed through two State’s administrations (Alejandro Murat-PRI y Salomón Jara-Morena) and three federal administrations (Enrique Peña Nieto-PRI, Andrés Manuel López Obrador y Claudia Sheinbaum-Morena) without that until now, any state or federal government having localized the comrade, or identified those responsibles of this crime against humanity. It was the State!
Later, after the rally the SolRojista basesremained mobilized until the start of the evening in the Palace of the Ignominy to recess the activity at 18.00 hours, in the midst of a sea of combative slogans.
