India: URGENT UPDATE – Maoist Leaders in Custody in Chhattisgarh

Several reports point out that many Maoist leaders have been detained in Chhattisgarh, and they might be in danger of being murdered in the name of a encounter. The Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF) has reported that these leaders are “Bandi Prakash, National Park Secretary Dilip, Maddedu Area Secretary Seetu, DC Member Ramanna, Munna, Sunitha, Mahesh and ten other Maoist leaders”. The repressive operation took place in a village in Bijapur district.

According to several reports, they were detained along with other high rank CPI (Maoist) members, among them the Telangana State Committee member Mailarapu Adellu alias Bhaskar, and he was already murdered in the name of a encounter which never happened.

New reports from reactionary press indicated that Mailarapu Adelu, known as comrade Bhaskar has been murdered by the old Indian State. These sources claim that the body was recovered from the area where took place an encounter against the repressive Indian forces, and that along with the body, were recovered “one AK-47 rifle and other explosives, weapons, and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site.”
