Event: Peasants reaffirm their solidarity with the Revolutionary Area Companhero Gedeon Duque
As reported by the newspaper A Nova Democracia, peasants in Barro Branco, Lagoa de Gatos and Algoas en Brasil, have organized an event in support and solidarity to the Revolutionary Area Companheiro Gedeon Duque, and to all the struggle for land in Brazil.
The 6th of July peasants of the Barro Branco have organized a political event in solidarity of Revolutionary Area Companhero Gedeon Duque. Representatives of the Poor Peasants League (LCP) and the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) were present, in which the manifesto og the peasants of the Area Gedeon Duque was presented. There were discussions held in which the necessity of the support for the struggle for land, to conquest it and to destroy the latifundium stood in the center of attention. In the end of the event the peasants recorded a video of support.
The Revolutionary Area Companhero Gedeon Duque is suffering attacks in the past months. A combined operation of Military Police and the bolsonarist paramilitary group “Invasão Zero” is acting in favor of the big landlords against the revolutionary peasants. The last is being led by the known mercenary Gesulino Cesar Travagine Castro. This organization is active in all of Brazil, but it was defeated by the peasants in the Cruel Battle of Barro Branco.
