
Actions for Comrade Basavaraj and the Martyr’s Week of India

Hereby we share some actions carried out to honor Comrade Basavaraj, to support the People’s War in India and on occasion of the Martyr’s Week in India that is currently taking place from 28th July to 3rd August.
Harsh Thakor has published a report on the event by Lok Sangram Morcha commemorating the martyrs. The event was carried out in Punjab, India.


Lok Sangram Morcha commemorated Martyrs Day in Moga in Punjab on July 27th. Martyrs paid homage to were Avtar Singh Dhudke, Prithipal Singh Randhawa, Laal Inder Singh Lali, Baba Bhuja Singh, Kanhai Chaterjee ,Charu Mazumdar, Basavaraju and Udham Singh. Thus encompassed Maoist leaders, past Naxalite martyrs, Student leaders and freedom fighters. Activists of Bharatiya Kisan Union(Krantikari) , Krantikari Pendu Mazdoor Union , Krantikari e rickshaw Union, participated in the gathering.
In memory of Comrade Basavaraj and all the comrades martyred in the Operation Kagar, there was a cultural event held in Bangladesh. During the event, the comrades sang a song in honor of the martyred.
The event was carried out in the Shishu Kalyan Parishad Auditorium, began with a minute of silence and expressed a firm opposition against the genocidal Operation Kagaar and its attacks on the Adivasi people and its lands. The event concluded with a cultural program and a demonstration to mark the end of the event:



In the capital of Finland, Helsinki, a demonstration was held by Anti-Imperialists Helsinki in front of the old Indian State’s embassy on July 27, “as part of and in service of the international campaign for Comrade Basavaraj and the People’s War in India.” Three documents were read: the statement from the Anti-Imperialist League, the one from the International Communist League, and the joint statement from Anti-Imperialists Helsinki and the Anti-Imperialist Collective. Despite police harassment and threats, the action was carried out with enthusiasm.




Graffiti to support the People’s War in India were done in Tampere:



In Stockholm, Sweden, a mobilization took place in front of the old Indian State’s embassy. Revolutionary activists responded to the call from the International Communist League to carry out an urgent campaign in memory of Comrade Basavaraj in defense of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and the People’s War in India. A statement was published alongside the report of the action.

In Trondheim, Norway, activists from Kampkomiteen held a memorial on July 26 for those who fell in the People’s War in India and to show their support. Flags featuring the logo of the Anti-Imperialist League were raised, and a manifesto was read. Cheers were heard for Comrade Basavaraj.



Dazibao Rojo has reported on a stand and hanged banners in Santiago de Compostela, Spanish State. In the banners was read, “Long live the People’s War in India” on occasion of the Martyrs’ Week of India, and for the Galician Socialist Republic.
