France: FSE calls for a Demonstration Against Imperialism in Paris
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a call issued by the Fédération Syndicale Étudiante (FSE).
Dear comrades,
As wars, occupations, and the exploitation of the peoples multiply under the domination of great powers, the anti-imperialist struggle is more necessary than ever.
As we all know, France, through its government, companies, and institutions, is fully participating in this destructive system: arms sales, support for criminal regimes, military interventions, and imperialist alliances.
Our universities and public institutions are also involved. For example, the Sorbonne University forms partnerships with defense companies (Thales, Dassault, Safran, etc.) and with Israeli universities complicit in the colonization of Palestine. These collaborations reveal the submission of public institutions, as well as research, to private and military interests, to the detriment of their independence.
While military budgets expands, the State is strangling public services, education, and research. This diversion of resources to the war industry illustrates the priorities of a power preparing the imperialist war.
We affirm our solidarity with the peoples in struggle. In the face of the rise of imperialist and colonial policies, it is time to strengthen the resistance. That is why, as part of the Anti-Imperialist Week organized by the FSE, we are organizing a rally on Friday, October 17, at 6 PM, at the Place de la Sorbonne, in order to unite our forces and make the voice of international solidarity heard by denouncing the collaboration between our universities and imperialism.
AGAINST IMPERIALISM AND ITS ACCOMPLICES: LET US UNITE!
We call on all organizations, collectives, unions, associations, and forces engaged in the struggle against imperialism, colonialism, and war to sign and join this call.
Together, let us make this rally a demonstration of solidarity and resistance against French and world imperialism!
