Press Conference and Hunger Strike Against Well-Type Prisons

The European Migrant Workers’ Association will hold a press conference on 20th of December against the well-type prisons in Switzerland on the anniversary of the 19-22 December massacre, when 2,000 prisoners were killed by the Turkish State.

Yeni Demokrasi also reported that two prisoners in the Çorlu High Security Closed Prison started a hunger strike demanding that they be transferred to a non-well-type prison. The prisoners, Fergil Fırat and Celal Punar, also demand the closure of well-type prisons in general.

Another prisoner in in a well-type prison, Yunus Özak, was beaten by ten guards for refusing the chief guard’s command to “stand at attention”.
